Biography:
Sara Robledo is a modern contemporary dancer, singer, and teacher. She specializes in working with seniors, high performance athletes and business executives, helping them improve their body awareness, movement coordination & stress resilience.
Sara obtained a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College, New York (1996).
As an Alexander Technique teacher, she is certified by the Escuela de Técnica Alexander México (ETAM), having studied under the guidance of Claudia Montero. Sara is a member of the Mexican Association of Alexander Technique Teachers (APTAM), which is affiliated to the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT) and the Alexander Technique Affiliated Societies (ATAS).
Sara is also certified by Fisiom Yoga (2024) in Emotions & Myofascial Chains, which is endorsed by the Spanish Association of Therapeutic Yoga (AEYT). She has trained extensively to teach the Alexander Technique online and hands-off teaching approaches (2021) under the guidance of Penelope Easten.
Additionally, she completed the Poise Project postgraduate study for Alexander Technique teachers (2023), training to work with people living with Parkinson's disease. Sara has undergone continuing education studies with master Alexander Technique teachers Peter Grunwald, Pedro de Alcántara, and Theodore Dimon. In 2021 Sara taught a Wise Yoga course alongside master teacher Cecile Raynor.
She has taught courses and masterclasses for the companies Sportsworld & Fox Sports and presented at the National Yoga Conference in Mexico City in 2024. For over 6 years, Sara has taught her signature course Posture, Presence and the Voice for Executives at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and taught at other prestigious universities such as Hunter College (NYC), and the Universidad Veracruzana (Mexico).
As a consultant for the media company Círculo y Medio and the NGO Lead Now Global, Sara works with businesspeople and public figures in managing work and personal challenges, as well as in preparing public speaking presentations.
As a yoga practitioner of more than 25 years, Sara began her journey under the guidance of Sri Dharma Mittra in New York. She is a certified Yoga teacher (Escuela de Entrenadores México, 300 hrs.), Pilates teacher (Kane School of Core Integration, NY), Dance Education (Harkness Dance Center), and Language of Movement (LMA).
As a yoga teacher, Sara taught the Yoga of sound to two generations of yoga teacher trainees at the Tiempo Yoga Teacher Training (Mexico City, 2019 and 2020).
In New York, she performed with the dance companies Sense Productions and Dancing in the Streets among others, and worked as an artist-in-residence for Ballet Hispánico, where she taught dance programs in public schools for over five years.
Currently, Sara leads the band Roble de Agua, having performed in festivals and other prestigious stages such as the Lunario of the Auditorio Nacional, La Casa del Lago (Mexico City), Festival de las Flores (Xalapa), FILU (Xalapa), Corredor Cultural Ex-hacienda San Francisco Toxpan (Córdoba), Teatro-Bar El Vicio, Festival de la Primavera (Zócalo, Mexico City), and the Foro Coyoacanense, among others.
She has released two records — Zarambeque and Roble de Agua —, as well as several recordings for both radio and television.
Sara is based in the fog forest of Coatepec, Veracruz where she teaches online and in-person classes in English and Spanish.
